Each project partner proudly organized and conducted “Eco-Entrepreneurial Events for Youth” in their respective country during the European Week of Sport in September. These events empowered young people by combining education through sport with the development of key eco-entrepreneurial competencies.

The events focused on an innovative combination of GreenComp through sport and EntreComp through sport, supporting participants in building both awareness of sustainability and an entrepreneurial mindset through engaging physical and team activities.

GreenComp through sport
Participants developed competencies that helped them connect their personal values with sustainability and recognize their role in natural systems:

  • reflecting on personal values; recognizing differences in values between people and over time; and assessing their alignment with the principles of sustainable development;
  • supporting equality and social justice for present and future generations, drawing lessons from past generations to strengthen sustainability efforts;
  • recognizing that people are part of nature, and respecting the needs and rights of other species and ecosystems in order to restore healthy and sustainable environments.

EntreComp through sport
Through dynamic, sports-based tasks, young people strengthened entrepreneurial competencies crucial for taking initiative and collaboratively solving problems:

  • taking initiative;
  • planning and management;
  • dealing with uncertainty, ambiguity, and risk;
  • working with other people;
  • learning through experience.

These events created an inspiring learning environment where young people could discover their potential, build confidence, and take meaningful steps towards shaping a more sustainable future through sport.
